Arcadian Organic & Natural Meat Co. has a comprehensive program to manage its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Implemented in June 2019, the program ensures Arcadian is responsibly dealing with the pressing issue of climate change.
We chose to do this voluntarily because it is right ethically, and it’s right commercially. We want to contribute to ensuring the natural patterns that created our productive landscape remain as they have always been, keeping the country healthy and fertile.
Arcadian is officially certified as a LowCO2 business under the LowCO2 programme of the Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI). CRI audits organisations internationally to the United Nations standards on greenhouse gas emissions. We’ve invested carefully in carbon offsets to compensate for the carbon footprint of our operations and all elements of the carbon neutral products that we offer to the market. Arcadian is also working closely with producers to ensure our farmers are reducing their emissions at every opportunity.
Consumers seeking meat products that touch lightly on the environment can now look for our numerous branded products proudly carrying the carbon neutral certification logo. All GHG emissions have been offset from production to end-user delivery, making them 100% carbon neutral.
Carbon neutral products are available to all of Arcadian’s commercial customers. In addition, customers can also produce their own carbon neutral products using Arcadian meat, just ask us what is involved.

Arcadian’s Carbon Neutral products all display the carbon neutral logo.
Becoming a Low CO2 Meat company allows Arcadian to take responsibility for our footprint and our carbon emissions. Every carbon neutral product has had its carbon footprint calculated and we’ve chosen to ensure that it’s ‘neutralised’ by something that compensates for it.
The activities that compensate are called ‘carbon offsets’ or ‘carbon credits.’ A Carbon offset represents one Tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent Greenhouse gas that has been prevented from entering the atmosphere. These emissions are offset by a third party who reduces greenhouse gases on our behalf, through a Carbon Offset Project.
The Carbon Reduction Institute has comprehensively assessed our carbon credit provider to consider their accreditation; environmental additionality; financial additionality; leakage; permanence and additional social or economic benefits.
We source our carbon credits from projects that meet the above criteria. They are real, measurable, permanent, additional and independently verified. Arcadian Organic only uses the International Gold Standard Certification of verifiable carbon credits as prescribed under the Kyoto Protocol.
