The perfect organic meat toolkit

Organic meat can’t help but be delicious. When it comes from well-treated, grass-fed animals with no added hormones, genetically modified material or antibiotics, you know you’re getting a quality cut.

However, if you want to enjoy your organic lamb or beef to its best potential, there are a few essential cooking items you’ll need.

Add these to your shopping list and you’ll be enjoying succulent organic meat in no time – you might even get a few compliments on your cooking skills!

Tongs

A pair of great-quality tongs are first up on our list. Without them, there’s no way to flip your organic meat on the grill! Choose a pair that have a wide, clam-shell tip or silicone ends – this way, you’ll be able to lightly pick up your steak and flip it with ease without losing any of those delicious juices.

Carving knife

A sharp carving knife is a must when dealing with organic meat. You’ll be able to slice meat away from the bone with ease and have it ready to serve within plenty of time – plus you’ll look like you have the skills of a chef!

Tinfoil

Tinfoil is perfect for covering meat after it has left the grill or oven and needs to rest. Lightly cover it to keep the heat from escaping and the flies off. It’s also great to wrap up any leftover meat with. That’s if there are any leftovers to be had!

Meat thermometer

These nifty thermometers can be inserted straight into the meat after cooking. Not only does this let you know if the meat has reached a safe temperature to eat, it can also give you a guide on your meat’s ‘degree of doneness’. If you’re after that perfect medium rare steak, this is an essential in your cooking toolkit.
