It’s that time of year again!
Term Three is drawing to a close all around the country, and soon you’ll have your hands full with keeping your kids happy and well-fed.
With all the fun and activities they’ll get up to over the coming weeks, it’s important to provide them with healthy, nutritious snacks to keep them fuelled.
And what do kids love eating more than a good old burger?
Instead of taking your kids to cheap and nasty fast food joints, show them you care by making your own homemade burgers with natural organic meat.
Not only does organic beef taste great, it’s also free from chemicals, hormones and antibiotics, so you’ll know your kids are getting the high quality food they deserve.
Burgers are so easy to prepare and you can have fun with adding your own touches – here are a few ideas to get you started.
Get saucy
A burger’s taste is largely determined by which sauce you use, so you can really get creative here!
Try something a bit different from the usual tomato sauce or mustard and find something that will suit your kids’ unique tastes. For example, if they’re into spicy food, a hot sauce will definitely kick things up a bit.
Worcestershire sauce, relish and mayonnaise are also great alternatives!
Add some spice
Sprinkling a few herbs or spices in your burgers will add that little extra zing.
Take advantage of the versatility of oregano or thyme, or use simple salt and pepper if you’re not quite ready to experiment yet.
Feeling cheesy?
Of course, the cheeseburger is a great alternative to the humble plain beef burger.
Sliced cheddar cheese is usually your best bet – the strong flavour goes perfectly with grass-fed beef!
