Organic meat suppliers are in hot demand as consumers around the world begin to switch on to the numerous benefits of buying and eating organic meats.
As part of an organic lifestyle, placing consumer dollars into environmentally sound and pro-animal welfare organic beef and lamb means that these suppliers get the seal of approval to continue to grow.
One such supplier is James Pearson, an organic farmer who runs a 4,000-strong cattle breeding operation in Queensland.
The area lends itself perfectly to organic meat farming, due to Queensland’s natural landscape.
Mr Pearson’s operation in the area was originally a standard farm, but with the importance of looking after the environment and meeting stringent animal welfare regulations, they began the conversion to become fully organic in 2005, a process which takes three years to attain certification.
Since then, Mr Pearson has taken great pride in being able to say that they are producing an incredibly high-quality product which will both taste fantastic and offer a healthier alternative to standard meats, all while keeping the environment and animal welfare in mind.
These points are the main focus for organic meat suppliers, as the chemical free product is a major point of difference to standard meats. Also, when you deal with the animals on a daily basis, then it’s obvious how improving their quality of life becomes important.
In an August 13 interview, Mr Pearson said that the future of organics, and anything environmentally-friendly in general was “huge”, and that there is already a “greater demand than there is a supply”.
He added that other farmers might consider making the change, as organic farming is no harder than your standard – only the rewards of being part of the organic meat trade are so much better.
